It took me a few years to decide if fashion design was for me, when I finally made the call to pursue the industry I knew FDS was where I wanted to go. I had a few friends in the course who had given me recommendations and after further research It seemed that FDS was offering the best program in Sydney.

I am now head of men's design for Sydney lifestyle brand Barney Cools.

After finishing her 5 year Textile design studies in the Secondary School of Fine Arts and Crafts (Kepzo- es Iparmuveszeti Szakkozepiskola) in Budapest, Zsofia moved to Sydney, Australia on her own at the age of 19.

in 2015 Zsofia began the Bachelor of Fashion Design Degree Course at Ultimo TAFE where she graduated in 2017 and received two TAFE scholarships.

The most useful skill that I have learned would be pattern making and sewing. Even though I believe that every day is still a learning process, just understanding the basic elements of both subjects is definitely an invaluable tool for your future career as a fashion designer.

Apart from those wonderful subject, FDS has also shaped me to move forward, to move out of my comfort zone, and to be a determined individual who will finish what she started. Strength (determination) is a personal skill / reflection that I can't live without.

I'm currently still figuring out my own design philosophy as I'm still exploring ways to design and I change my ideas all the time.

My current vision for 3rd-year collection would be about re-exploring and unfolding the vulnerability, sensitivity, rawness, and tactility in the mother nature and human nature.

My favourite part of the design process is to develop the colour palette, sketching ideas for prints, experimenting with textiles and just being able to be as experimental with deconstructing and unfolding elements then combining them all back together to create something that is genuine with a conscious observant mind.
