DIGITAL FABRIC DESIGN – an introduction
This course provides students with an ability to apply design based software Adobe CS6 to the design, preparation and creation of printed fabrics in a digital medium at an introductory level. Topics: – Operate both Photoshop and Illustrator at a basic level – Colour manage digital artwork – Put fabric and wallpaper designs into repeat – Colour separate Vector files – Tonal colour separate bitmap files – Design and print t-shirts using a direct digital garment printer Enrol HERE
DESIGN PRINCIPLES FOR TEXTILE PRINTING – Screen Printing
This 5 week workshop is for anyone wanting to print their own designs onto fabrics. You will learn quick and simple print design techniques, as well as the basic skills needed to screen print, including screen set up and coating, shooting a design onto the screen, preparing fabric for printing and screen printing. Running over 5 consecutive weeks, it allows you to work on your designs between classes and come in and print the next week. It is ideal for anyone studying the Digital Fabric Design commercial courses as you can use the prints designed in that class to print in this workshop in both repeats and placement prints. This course is designed to give you basic skills in Computer Aided Design (CAD), as it applies to Fashion. You will be using a variety of Adobe products, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, to create moodboards, illustrations, production sketches and layouts for fashion related projects. This course is ideal for those already working in the fashion industry and looking to upgrade their skills in Fashion CAD to increase their viability in a competitive employment market. Enrol HERE
This is a practical course where students learn the creative art of illustrating detailed drawings of figure and face for a fashion design context. Students will be taught a variety of illustration techniques through practical demonstration and will then undertake individual projects based around techniques learned each week. Enrol HERE
